I have a question, correct me if I am wrong. There are 4 ways to make money with domains.(I'm not interest in the first 2) 1) Buy an expired domain with a catchy name ex: TheRealTruth.com then try to resell it...maybe to an anti smoking organization to make a profit. 2) Buy an expired domain, park it with some domain service such as godaddy, whypark etc etc. 3 and 4 I am definitely interested to try it in the near future. 3)Go to go daddy.com at the section for domain auction, buy a domain with pretty decent traffic. Once you got your new domain, re-direct the domain to your site that includes Google Adsense everywhere and pray that some one will click 4) Re-direct your new domain to any email or zip code cpa offer and waiting for actions. Is this the right way or not?
Number 1 sounds correct... but to be honest most of the catchy names are for sale as the regular prices since godaddy or other sites for registrar recognizes them as catchy domains, they label them as premium domains and they sell it from ranging to $100-$1000 or more
3 and 4 doesn't sound too promising. Unless you find the same niche domain. And visitor will not do the CPA offer unless your website content is really attractive.
This method relies on luck since most everything that is truly brandable, or catchy is registered and sitting in portfolios, or in use. Unless you have a domain with true type in value, which is almost a thing of the past since most people use the search bar for everything, even typing in the domain. Is a direct match to a keyword or phrase, or has some previous SEO done...parking sucks. Not only that, but parking pages look like what they are..parking pages. Almost everyone is hip to them, and realize all they do is display ads, and back out of them immediately since they do not have the content that they are looking for. A pretty weak business model. Internet users are sick of MFA type sites, and just about anyone will tell you that adsense revenues are way down. People want informative content and Entertainment. The days of constantly clicking around are over. They will just back out and redefine their search. There is only one reliable way to make money, and that is do the work. Just sitting on a domain and hoping to make ad money is all but over. Premium domains are all gone, everything that you can get your hands on is second string, and not premium. The way to make money is by developing the domain into a website that offers good content, and build the traffic up so that it makes some money. Sure there will always be a market for domains, but just sitting on domains as a business model will not make you much money unless you have a stellar portfolio that you have been building for (at least) the last 5 years, and have some real gems, or have a budget to buy some.
