Hillary Clinton was once a young Republican. What if she were to turn Republican again and run against Obama in 2012? Would the Republicans welcome her?

Take a look at the Massachusetts 4th Congressional District, home of Barney Frank:
    http://www.govtrack.us/congress/findyourreps.xpd?state=MA&district=4

The low-density population of Massachusetts south of Taunton is primarily Conservative. So the map was deliberately drawn to dilute those Conservatives with high-density high ultra-liberal populations in Boston. As if the fisherman on Massachusetts' south coast have the same political concerns of the industrial Boston suburbs, hmmm? This allows Barney to safely ignore the non-liberals, which is why unemployment in Massachusetts is the highest in that southern district.

Only recently came across mother jones, must have been a twitter thing, are they extreme lefties?

We're following the US example by the quite recent introduction of a number of innocuosly sounding 'think tanks' bankrolled by the upper echelons. We do seem to be aware of them on the whole and I hope you take their corporatist philosophies into consideration when deciding what's right for America. We won't get sucked in by them. One thing is clearer though, the world is becoming more aware of how we're being herded.

Obama can only win if a new tragedy takes place which then results in a new international conflict.

Not trying to be too doomsday here, but imagine "revenge for Bin Ladin" taking place in form of an attack on a much larger scale than 9/11. Something like a nuclear attack on a major city. Then what? Now follow the thought and think about whether or not it would be possible to tie Ahmadenijad to it (somehow through many backdoors) and what America's reaction would be to that.

If something like that was to take place 6 months before the next election, another 4 years (at least) would be guaranteed.

So at this point there is absolutely no way for me to predict what will happen considering how turns of events have brought the unexpected into an everyday reality for the past 10 years.

Obama's speech to the Black Caucus had eerie similarities to Carter's Malaise speech. A few more speeches like that were the abject frustration and lack of control are not going to have the short term positive affect that Carter's rant did so many years ago.

Possibility of a nuclear attack is certainly reaching a little too far..

But if it happens, the first obvious target will be Pakistan then with some trickery Iran will be tied to it.. Knowing US, they will use nukes in retaliation..

Chain of events according to my logic will be like this -

~ Us will accuse Pakistan's hand in the attack, they will link some of the ISI honchos and demand that Pakistan hand them over..
~ Pakistan will rubbish the accusation and deny to hand over accused. Instead Pakistan will ask US to hand over the evidence so they can investigate it themselves.
~ Demand for revenge will grow stronger in US, riots and ethnic clashes will be seen in some areas.
~ Pakistan will accuse India for any reason, threaten to launch nukes on India if Pakistan is attacked by anyone.
~ The congress will pass the resolution to attack Pakistan, US will seek India's help in 'War on nuclear Terror'. Indian response will depend on who is in the power.
~ Pakistan will launch an attack on India, probably with nukes.
~ Arab nations will blame US and Israel for the shit and go all gung-ho on Israel..
~ And a major war will ensue
~ Not sure about China and Russia..

I can simply imagine world being totally fucked up.

Maybe. But then again: The things that happened in the past 11 years would have also been considered too far fetched when I grew up in the 70s.

I can see Pakistan, but also Syria. Actually, wherever the media tells people the terrorists are getting support is going to be considered a nation worth attacking.

WOW, interesting reply. About China and Russia: I have to say that I can see China having a shot at taking advantage of the Western and Arab worlds slaughtering one another and taking over.

I prefer to be doomsday to being surprised and do not consider myself unrealistic here.

India is a wildcard to me. Nuclear power but it is also a world I am not familiar with.

Quite true, who could have imagined on 9/10 that a day later WTC towers will be history with over 3000 lives lost.

    Syria and Iran, both..

It's already happening, it's not really a secret that Pakistan harbors terrorist from all around the world.. ISI is being linked with Embassy attack in Kabul already. Pakistan has been accused of nuclear proliferation in the past. Add them up, and you can have that a little unclear picture.

A question comes to mind.. If West and Arabs slaughter each other, who will be left to buy Chinese shit anymore?

This part of the world is not much different than any other part.. Money is there, but limited to a select few.. Economy is controlled by corporate, Government is puppet, that too a stupid one.
Most of the people are sheeps. Corruption is everywhere. Rich are getting richer and poor are getting poorer.

PS: Doomsday theory that sounds realistic, scares me. I just don't wanna die young.. I haven't fucked enough girls yet!

LOL same here, but I am working on getting the number up. I just no longer am interested in being cool with sitting around while lies come my way pretending everything will be just fine. Yes, I am sure India is going down the same road as all nations meaning the middle class gets eliminated. The buffer zone between the rich and the poor vanishes and I see the perfect scenario of nations able to decide whatever they wish and no powerful internal opposition being able to raise its voice.

Getting laid in India is not easy.. 1.5 billion people, yet it's hard to find a girl. Too much competition...
Many of us suffer from the onegina.

At least with Techno burst and outsourcing, young middle class is seeing growth.. In India, if you know English you will do just fine..

I dunno - the only thing Obama has going for his is "he kept America safe" while he was in office. This deep into his first term, a new tragedy would cause the public to not trust him to keep the USA safe.

Unless a new war situation arises and people prefer to keep him in office while the conflict goes on rather than switching to someone like Ron Paul who would most likely be considered "too weak" in case of a new international emergency.
