You're right. Dropping your arms brings about peace. REAL Peace!!!

6 million Jews did just that.

    Not in this world..
Dropping your arms is a certain way to ensure your annihilation.. You drop your arms, some lunatic will pick a stick and fuck you with it.

I'm not a pro-war, but I'm all for a military so powerful that it makes war obsolete.. That's the only way to ensure the peace in the world of different radical ideas and beliefs.

BUT and it is a big BUT, such military should NOT come at the price of everything else...

They had no choice, not many actually had weapons to drop, they had to do what the man with the bigger weapon said. No arms would have stopped that from happening.

I agree right now, as it is, we all couldn't just drop arms, but we can work on a treaty towards that as opposed to the opposite where everyone's an enemy and they all have big guns. That doesn't bounce well. How do you NOT bring about an Orwellian tragedy whilst only in pursuit of ultimate safety?

How the strong army makes the war obsolete? USA already has the strongest army right now and spends more that all other countries in it´s war machine and the only thing they do with it is to use it as mercenary force serving some corporations to plunder other countries.

That is a nice sentiment, but it doesn't work in the real world.

For example, without a strong navy, what would stop piracy?

Look at countries like individual personalities. Some are benefactors, but there will always be criminals anxious to prey on the weak.

China would like to change that.

Not serving "some corporations", but serving China.

Do you believe the theory that China blackmailed the USA into invading Iraq? Think about it.

They had no choice because all of Western Europe took your "drop your arms" approach.

LOL. So your excuse is that China has forced USA to use it´s army as a mercenary force to plunder other countries for their benefit, do you mind to tell us how? Do you mean all your politicians are traitors working for a foreign power namely China? I can accept this to some extend since many of them are more interested in what is good for Israel than USA but seriously China?

Did Elvis tell you this? Time to up your meds.

Although it is entertaining how gworld can take one comment and hallucinate it into a full-fledged delusion.

gworld, when do you think Israel will bomb Iran's nuke facilities to make things easier for Obama?

You say that like the current policy works or something, as if it's a better way.

Look aound, it's getting worse than it ever was, not better.

Agreed. Allies are the worst for it.

Ha, do you mean US beat China to it, because of course I hear ya say, they would have stole it if we hadn't.

Hmm, except Germany of course, who was trying to become THE superpower too.

You guys just look for the evil in everything. Must live quite sad lives I believe.

I'd imagine the reason the moderation team gives Julian so much levity in his posts is because they do break up the monotony here at times. Even and idiot is funny sometimes. ;)

There is no doubt that Mitt Romney will be the next President of the United States after Barack Obama.

Odds makers have Barack "Gimme yo money" Obama favored at 51.5%, but as Karl Rove likes to say, we are several geologic ages from election day. I'm hard pressed to see how unemployment goes under 8% by November, and if it stays where it is at, Obama loses.

Well that's obviously incorrect. I think there's huge doubts on that happening. Saying there's No doubt is provably wrong, I doubt it for 1.

Well, if unemployment stays above 8%, it's highly probably Obama loses because no president has ever won re-election with unemployment over 8%.
