I've come to terms with vista now that I have 4 gigs of ram to power it. Though its still the worst OS experience I've ever had.
It's funny how some people here can't see beyond there nose. If anybody says bad things about Microsoft it's lies and half truths. Like Microsoft could never produce anything that is bad (wishful thinking). PCWorld has more credibility then most of the poster here that disagreed with them.
I LOL'D? Operating systems, not versions of each tho Something more diverse i would say. Ms Dos Windows NT Windows ME Windows 2000 Windows Xp Windows Server Windows Vista Windows 7 ( IDK about this one, since the kernal is all the same)
I hate Vista and ie6, they are the bane of my existence. I wish Microsoft would make something work for once and let it be universal with firefox, safari, and everyone.
Having to use OS 7 -9 for years I would pick these as the Top worst Operating Systems. OSX is better but too bloated for my tastes. Never had an issue with 64bit Vista though, again bloated but easily bloat removed. The fact Windows OS's can work with a multitude of different hardware configurations make it an achievement in itself.
linux rules , altough never used it , but i know a few cool things about linux . might be switching in a few months from now.
I use vista at home and XP at work. The start menu system on Vista is infinetely better than XP and the searching is a vast improvement. It does run a slower and hogs more resources but every newer OS does that. To me the improvements in Vista warrant the slower speed. But I guess its a personal thing. Back when XP first came out people moaned about that compared with 98. Worst OS ever has to be Windows ME.
Windows ME to me is by far the worst mentioned! I have XP pro, Vista business & Linux Ubuntu. M favorite is Linux Ubuntu (sorry!), second Vista
there was a time when windows 95 as well as 98 use to rock in market; now you are using XP that is why saying 98 worst OS
windows vista is the worst operating system.I agree with that. It's a virus for me. too much ressources for nothing. just the definition of a virus!
NT 4 was one of the worst? I have to totally disagree with that statement. NT 4 was a solid operating system. It ran servers all over the world for years. Even after windows 2000 came out, loyal NT 4 die hards would not give it up. I would like to know how many NT 4 servers are still up and running today. ------------------------- I dont really have a worst 10 list, but here are the ones that come to mind. Windows 98 first edition Windows Millennium Microsoft was so ashamed of both of them that they were dropped within a year or 2 of their release. Vista - mainly for its inability to play nicely with windows active directory. If you take a vista business computer, and plug it into a active directory network that supports roaming profiles - it does not work. A second profile for the user is created. And then, the two profiles are not synchronized. So the user is left with 2 profiles on the network. The network admin has to go in and move the files manually. It turns into a big nightmare.
