wrong Some members certainly are a little 'abrupt' occasionally, but no-one is really here to answer your questions, unless they want to of course. Sometimes it gets frustrating to see people posting stooopid questions where the answer is on the forum about 1000 times already, like "how do I add my sig", and I can understand the abrupt answer. Some other questions I am guilty myself of not thoroughly searching first, and deserve someone to post "use the search" now you have 200+ posts and are considered an established member I hope you spend several hours answering questions every day now.
As a wise man once said, you Mexicans don't like fun. Now if you'll excuse me, I got to go bump that entertaining thread!!
Nothing to do with having fun... if you want to act like a 3 year old be my guest, but why don't you take your little friend to MSN and have a nice chat instead of filling the thread with 387 nonsense posts?
I am not saying they have to answer questions, but someone like minstrel, yfs1, nintendo or the other guys, I don't think they are learning much from the forum by now, they are here to stay up to date and in the same time answer questions, if they feel like it, of course. It took me more than 6 months to reach 200 posts and I am not really looking forward to get high post counts. Whenever I have a question or I want to get news I come here.
Only if we know the answer can we answer them! I would guess 90% of my posts are being wacko and living down here on the Off Topic boards, 7% is answering mod_rewrite questions (See we answer questions when we know da answers!!), 2% is replying to non wacko/question threads, .01% is asking questions, then .99% is other.
Amipatel is a weird case..He was originally given a ban due to that thread and multiple accoounts (At different times) and was given a second chance after some pleading. The reason that thread is so long is that it is a bunch of his old threads merged together. Since most of his original threads made no sense, you can't even tell that that long thread is actually quite a few put together. Some of his posts have been better and although he annoys the crap out of me at times, he does contribute at times. Luckily, I haven't seen his 1000th post as it might change my mind Back to topic, I absolutely agree with the initial post here as if post counts weren't a motive, those that just like to welcome people (I probably have 100 posts or so in that section) could do so. Its of course up to Shawn
If there were the case I'd be at like 300 posts . Not that a post count really matters to me much anyway. It's only as good as the Rep system.. it can be manipulated.
So what?? Better to have 300 quality posts than 2,000 filled with information like what color boxers you use or at what age you lost your virginity.
I have to concur pretty much with everything Fryman has said, DP's popularity brings a lot of dross posts, which is fine but some of those threads would be better on IM, I am amazed at how some folks can post such random comments and fill threads with absolutely nothing, its almost an art in itself, if not a little tiresome at times.
