Thanksgiving Traffic

Interested to know if the Thanksgiving holiday killed or lifted others traffic?

I was expecting to be well under average today but ended up coming in a bit better than normal. Wierd - and I don't even have a 'Turkey' site.

    How was your day?

Our traffic was down by 50%, which is what we expected! Even though it was expected, it still hurts!!!

Should there not be mostly more traffic over there in the states with everyone at home on holiday? Or are you expecting a lot of the business to business service websites to see a loss of traffic?

Down about 1/3 but that seems reasonable. Thanksgiving is a big family event where extended family are frequenly traveling. You can also watch American football from morning till night.

Down between 30-50% for most of my sites. Quite expected though - I wasn't online much myself on Turkey Day either!

Down about 50% on my main site, but since it targets moms, I think it's pretty easy to say why I didn't get much traffic.

Not sure where our extra traffic came from - I know we get a fair bit from outside the US - but expected it to be about a 30 - 40% decrease. Oh well - nice surprise.

    thanks for sharing.

Down 15% I believe its because most people are busy stuffing their faces and when there done they just want to sleep. You know turkey makes you tired.

We are taking a little hit over this holiday but you have to figure it's going to hapen while people are out and about instead of surfing the net.

Thanksgiving day was down but not as much as usual, then today was our best day after thanksgiving for sales, usually still slow. But from here on out it usually gets crazy.

This november hasn't already beat last november for sales. Woo-hoo!!!

    Happy holidays all.

Traffic was way up overall for the holiday weekend, ie, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, but Turkey Day itself was way down.. Around 30% down I would say.
