Four days ago my site was nowhere to be found on the SERPS for the highly competitive term "funny stuff". Not in the top 1000 anyway. Then I put about half my co-op weight (2,600 is the full weight) on the term. Today I checked my keyword positioning, and on google.co.uk I rank number FOUR for that term! On google.com I'm about half way down the second page of results. I'm over the moon. Between this and the fantastic advice I've picked up on here, I'm definitely a 100% convert to the church of Digital Point. You guys are the best.
Glad to hear you are ranking better. Is your traffic reflecting that? Are there any other factors that could be impacting this, such as recent on-page optimization, other inbound links, etc? I ask because I'm a bit surprised that you noticed results in less than a week... Seems a little "too quick".
I deliberately didn't do any other SEO work as an experiment to see how effective the co-op would prove. That said, there has been an increase in inbound links after the site got featured on collegehumor.com recently, but the links all go to another page on the site, and are nothing to do with the search term I'm now ranking so highly for. So I can't help but feel it's all thanks to the co-op.
It's not unusual to see results in around 3-4 days, quite common from my experience, onwards and upwards Baz!
