i am thinking of purchasing a travel link from textlinkbrokers. Does anyone have any experience with these and know if they really work?

The one i am looking at is:
    http://reports.linkmgmt.com/buyer/csearch.pl?cat=21

#822 and the PR 6 package

I would love anyones thoughts and advice as to whether this really will have an impact. I had thought about co-op but my clients dont want any advertising on their sites.

    hope you can help

Seems expensive to me if you only want it for ranking higher. If the link
would get you traffic it would be worth it, but if you only want it for rank
I'd reconsider. If higher ranking/PR is what you're looking for, I'd buy some
PR7's from one of the sellers here for $25 each or less or even go with a PR8
    for under $100.

My best experiance as far as prices go is watch the "Buy, Sell and Trade" part of this forum. You can find some really good deals there (no middle man) and some very compitent people.

There are a few details by the user guy "SandWalker" , he is selling PR7 links for 25 $ each. Apart from that put some links of high PR sites on your main page and that might build your PR too.

I can vouch for textlinkbrokers.com, they are honest and would only sell links on good sites that can help your rankings.

BTW: I'd be very suspicious of anyone selling "PR8" links for $100... They're almost guaranteed to be fake/blocked/banned.

They also hijack threads pretending to be customers recommending their service. For example, there is this one forum user (jason2005) that does just that.

That textlinkbrokers thing is garbage... first they spammed me sending like 10 emails saying that they were interested in selling links on my site for a huge price, and after I contacted them they gave me some stupid price like 8 bucks per link.

I am now selling them via linkworth and I get $60 per link

Rebuttal. I sell PR8 inside page text links for $99. A premier newspaper in the USA.

Link brokers charge much more than I. Linkadage PR8 pages go for around $125-150 when selling.

Text links are a very price sensitive market. I have a lot of product to move. Even at $99, takes time to sell the links. Simple business. I want to maximize my net income. I can sell a couple of links for $150, or blowout 20 links for $99.

Yeh yeh, I bought one of those "blowout" PR8's on a newspaper site from linkadage. 2 PR updates later my site was still a PR4 and had absolutely no ranking boost what-so-ever.

I checked the other 15 or so paid links on the same page as me, and none of them had above a PR5. It's obvious the site was blocked from passing PR and I was paying $100/month for a useless link, which the seller still denies.

Last time I go through some small time guy with no reputation. It's worth paying the extra $50/month to get a link that actually works.

Thanks for the kind comments guys... It's true that not all PR links are alike, you have to do your homework when buying link spots.

For starters, make sure the backlinks add up and indeed do show the site you're interested in linked on their site. Check outgoing linked sites on the site you're interested in, make sure most of them show backlinks from the site. Use all major engines to check these factors, not just one.

For the person that asked, textlinkbrokers are for real, just on the retail side of links. That doesn't guarantee their quality however (I've seen errors in their checking myself), always check for yourself.

I mainly do SEO for our own sites and clients, any links I sell are left over inventory we're not using. So they've been thoroughly checked. If anyone had a problem with a link for any reason, I would gladly switch it to one of our other site of equal value.

I would avoid text link brokers. They seem shady to me.

For what reason? They're listed on the BBB and have been in business for a long time.

Buying leads has not proven profitable for me and so buying text links seems equivalently unprofitable.

You're not doing it right then :D . As an example.. i pay $200/month for links and profit over $2k/month from it. (Minus a tiny bit of link exchanges on my own part).

thats one of the goals of Google, to cloud what works and what does not so that it increases the cost of SEO.

if a site is well known and selling links well below market value then of course it makes sense that they would not want to count those. the cheaper the link the more reason there is to be suspicious
thats part of the job of a broker or a person who really makes a living selling links, to verify the quality of their link publishing partners

well what is the goal? is buying leads the problem? or is it who you are buying them from? or how the leads are targeted? or is your site one that does not convert?

many markets have other marketers with years of experience. in my experience if you are trying to build something longterm you have to overinvest in learning and effortwise off the start, and then hopefully later profits roll in.
