TextCanada.ca - PR 2 - Traffic/Revenue - Low BIN

    Site Name: TextCanada.ca

    Site URL: http://www.textcanada.ca

    PR: 2

Site Details: TextCanada is a site that allows you to send text messages to cell phones with service from all major Canadian carriers (except Rogers). Script is unique though I'm sure there are other sites out there offering the same service.

Traffic Details: Traffic is minimal, about 10-15 uniques per day. Some traffic comes from search engines, but most via a sticker campaign that we held about 6 months ago. Stickers with the sites address and logo were pasted all around Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto, Montreal, Halifax, and St. John's by myself, my wife, and volunteers in a few cities we couldn't get to.

Revenue Details: Minimal, about $2 per month from AdSense and another $2 or so from ValueClick.

    Screenshots: Click here.

    BIN: $125

Feel free to post, PM, or email me with any questions.

Telus is by far the largest cellular service provider in Canada, with a market share of 63%, not Rogers.

Fido still works, but Rogers does not allow third party scripts to access their servers.

It's good it doesn't work on rogers. I'd ban them just on principle :).

I'll run this past my wife who may be interested. I don't text message, but she very annoyingly does frequently. Stupid text messaging. Freakin' pick up the phone and call!

    But I digress :).

I also thing that domain has some good potential. I really think .ca's are undervalued right now, but with the recent buy-up of all those domains by the yellow page company - if they start pumping the crap out of .ca's, they're going to get valuable fast.

Good call on the .ca's! I was lucky enough to pick up a good number of them a couple of years ago, so hopefully you're right!

While I appreciate the info, I believe you're wrong and the 63% market share I mentioned above is a fact.

Regardless, this is a sales thread, not a cellular service debate.

Bid of $65 received. I'll let it go at that, but I'd like to see it go a little higher. Any last bids?

Bell's gotta be bigger than rogers.

Anyway, sell it if you want, but if you're not on a deadline, give me a day. My wife's looking at it right now - not sure how interested we are and not sure how we'd make money from it, but let us sleep on it. I gather it comes with the domain name, the site layout, and the required scripts?

We discussed it over dinner and we're going to decline to bid. Though I still think at the price the domain name is well worth it.

Rogers Wireless, previously known as Rogers AT&T Wireless, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Rogers Communications. Rogers Wireless is the largest Canadian wireless communications service provider.

Rogers purchased Fido in November 2004, creating Canada's largest wireless carrier, which surpasses Bell Mobility in subscriber volume

While I appreciate your info, I have to stress: this is a sales thread, and if you're not interested in buying, I'd really prefer you didn't fill my thread.

On the other hand, I appear to be citing outdated numbers in regards to Telus :)

Regardless, no third party script that I know of is able to send a text message via a Rogers phone, so I want to make it clear that there is nothing lacking about this script.
