I'm not sure if anyone has tried this before, but what about a reverse approach of the images with text ads? Instead of that...use large image ads with text above or below it... I wonder if something like this is ok? I'm going to do a one day test and see how it goes... See attached image
I'm not sure they'll be okay with that either. http://adsense.blogspot.com/2006/12/ad-and-image-placement-policy.html Better check with them before doing it across your whole site.
I have to laugh at myself for trying this... this is the bizarro approach to a time tested technique...
True...but where do they say you can't put TEXT near the IMAGE ADS? Look at the attachment...this is an IMAGE AD...with a hypothetical blog post above it...
it's an image ad with an image next to it...it's the same thing it's your account that you're risking...if it were me..I wouldn't dare
Technically it is text... it is just a screenshot of the example. Just to clarify, the square image is an example of an image ad that google served up... the text above it is the text.
LOL...I just got a brainstorm... how about THIS: Place a google image ad at the top of your site... and THEN put a google TEXT AD below it! How could they complain about that?
