I have been getting poor clicks from text ads until recently when i switched to image. my ctr suddenly increases but i notice the cpc is lower? so for the same size banner, am i right to say that an image ad usually cost less than a text ad? lol i thought the logic is you should be paying MORE for taking up more space in my website? isn't it?
soposedly the large rectangle is the best performing ad. I still haven't experimented around with it but most gurus say that the large rectangle is the best.
My experiments show large rectangle is the best performing. I tried initially using banner ads and they did not perform well. Banner ads perform well for affiliate marketing if the audience is well targeted.
i do agree the large rectangle and leaderboard is great. but i was just comparing, assuming text and image are same size, CTR for image is higher but ePCM is lower?
I might hae to change the types of ads I have on myself. Is it a major difference or only if you are getting lots of clicks?
it is logical that a large image will catch your attention easier than having text wordings. as such, the CTR will improve. you can try it yourself and monitor. but the problem is eCPM might reduce as i see most image ads are low paying ads. so its good to diversify but using both image/text ads on the same page or rotating image/text on the same location
