I've done searches on two keyword phrases I was trying to optimise for and on both terms on different sites, the site placed on the first page and number one postion on google use repetitive text set as the same colour as the background at the top.......whats the score there, they say don't do it, but these pages have been top for years..?????
They may be cloaking to prevent detection, using clever tricks or they just got lucky. Try reporting them - or name and shame here! Just don't give live links... http://www.google.com/contact/spamreport.html
yep. as sarah said that has to be case. you could either report them or name them here so that ppl know who they are and can stay away
naaah, google is fair, it's those sites who abuse the fairness. hehe.. besides I believe google has no way of knowing those kind of sites (especially if hidden in css) except through spam report.
I think its only a matter of time until they are found out and heavily penalised for it. what goes around comes around - hopefully your site will take there place in the SERPS
Yep thats right,even if they make clever tricks to the bot, there are are still human eyes that see it.. Well I know a fishing site that becomes no1 in a competitive keyword, They been using same text color with the back ground. after 2 months beeing no1 they have gone out of SERP's.. they have taken the price
