Text or Image ads?

Well I'm having a bit of an issue.
    I usually run around 2% - 7% CTR.
However at times it's hardly $.10 a click, if I'm lucky.
I only run image ads currently. Is that why?
Should I switch it up to text ads? All my ads displayed right now are relevant but they're just not making me money.

I guess you get limited Ads with only image Ads so I would suggest that you go for both Text and Image Ads option.

I have found that text ads consistently pay more than image ads. Your niche and your traffic source can also have an affect on your income.

Use both, add channels and test them out.

Give text ads a try and see what happens. I like the idea of having a text ad and an image ad set up in different channels to see an A/B split test.
I find the more relevant the ads, the more chance of getting a click. Change the color of the text ads to match your website so it blends in.
Definitely try link ads if possible and blend them in.
I have found out that image ads sometimes get stuck on the same ads over and over - and can cause ad blindness after awhile.
Without a doubt - if you can get your ads to exactly match your niche, click thru rate goes up.
    One mans observation.

it will also depends on what theme is your website.,some website themes are good to have an image ads, take for example a gaming website. its good to have an image ads run to it rather than text ads..so i suggest you rather experiment and see which works best..good luck

In most cases for me image ads pay less and have less advertisers. I would suggest if you can try and mix it up or you run a text ads and see what happens after two weeks.

I don't think there is a clear cut choice. An image at the top of articles seems to convert well and text next to other links seems to convert well.

Problem is that with images you don't know what pays on CPC or CPM. With CPM, you don't get paid for clickthroughs, instead maybe 0.001 per impression.

Do not use image ads, use only text ads in Google, image ads cost 2-3 cents.

I prefer to have those text ads more than the image ads as the text converts better than the banner image ads. Image ads are seen right away as ADVETISEMENT, and most people shy away from them.

Personally, I run just text ads. They've made me a lot more than image ads. You should run a text for 500 hits to see where you make more money - image or text.
