Text links with no follow attribute

    does anyone think that Google will penalize for footer text links (on all pages of site) that have the rel="nofollow' attribute on them?

    Absolutely not. Nofollow links wont be followed by google so no penalty!

    What google always say it sell text links purely for traffic and not for manipulating PR. so you are doing just what google wants

    What on earth gives you this idea?

    Google hates people buying pagerank. If they buy traffic (adverts) you should use nofollow which is fine. So why would a footer nofollow get you penalsied? Just search this forum or mattcutts.com

    I would think it would be safe although I haven't heard of anyone testing anything lilke this so I can't say for sure.

    Google won't penalize for nofollow links, because these links don't pass PageRank.
