Text links or Banner links?

In your experience which one works better on your site?

Im experimenting with both but I believe people wear banner blinkers when they are browsing a page!

    Any thoughts?

I prefer text links because you can bring traffic and SEO at the same time..

Both of them can bring you traffic but if you want to invest for a long run, I recommend text links :)

Both can be effective. It depends where they are on the page and how visually appealing/catchy the text is.

I don't use banners and don't buy them. I would go for txt link gives you a SEO value which banners don't.

For SEO I always use text links but a mixture of both always looks nice.

I have always been a bigger fan of text links. However, a well placed banner that blends with the site will attract more clicks. I have found that the flashier the banner, the less likely a visitor will click on it. A well designed one with more conservative viewing looks less spammy and attracts more clicks.

It really depends as others have said. If you want traffic directly from teh advertisement (rather than going for an SEO backlink bonus) then I would rather have a well placed banner any day of the week over a well placed text link ad. I think they are more visual and eye catching for potential visitors.

If you have a good space on your website, then a good and visitor attractive banner can do your work more easily. :)
