Text Links In CJ - Is The 1 x 1 Empty Image Needed?

    Hi there,

I use CJ as an affiliate portal, was just wondering if anyone else does because I have a basic question regarding the text links...

Why do the text only affiliate links have an image included in the html code after the link?

I can only think that the image is used as a tracking method - so you have stats for every time the image is viewed, even though the image doesn't actually show up.
If this is correct, can I simply delete the image from the code?

    Thanks for any help.

Yes, the image is for tracking impressions.

So I would be okay to just delete that image line?

It is used to track the impressions. If you don't use it, then the CPM numbers in the CJ stats will be incorrect. I personally never use it.
