Text links from linkshare- I'm confused, help!

Well, I have a good handle on SEO and Adsene... now I'm dipping my toes into affiliate marketing.

I have 3K subscribers, and have only been sending emails consisting of friendly tips and advice. Time for a little "Ka-Ching!" don't ya think?

Anyway, I signed up for a few programs with Linkshare.

I generated the text links for use in emails and articles on my site.

This is what it looks like:

    <a href="http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=/0nGU4CPJxg&offerid=93808.10000100&type=3&subid=0" >Highlights&nbsp;for&nbsp;Kids&nbsp;Magazine</a><IMG border=0 width=1 height=1 src="http://ad.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/show?id=/0nGU4CPJxg&bids=93808.10000100&type=3&subid=0" >

Am I really supposed to stick ALL THAT into an email or article?

Linkshare warns: Code for Link (Textual) - This code must be placed on your site exactly as it appears.

    Please Help! Thanks!

Just found out about this myself.
    <a href="http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=/0nGU4CPJxg&offerid=93808.10000100&type=3&subid=0" >Highlights&nbsp;for&nbsp;Kids&nbsp;Magazine</a><IMG border=0 width=1 height=1 src="http://ad.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/show?id=/0nGU4CPJxg&bids=93808.10000100&type=3&subid=0" >

The underlined is the actual URL people need to go to. The italics is what linkshare uses to track how many times an ad is seen, to track CTR. Some of my reports show a CTR of above 100% because adsense, etc doesn't let you have that image.
If your newsletter is HTML, then I don't see any reason not to put the whole thing in, they won't see all the messy code.

p.s. the 2nd link has a nice referral system too.

Thanks, my newsletter is plain text though.

What would be the best way to shorten it? Buying a domain to redirect the traffic to?

    Thanks!

Hmm, thats an expensive solution. a link from fly.to or those other sites might work, but they have advertising. The alternative is to make a folder on ur website with an index.html file with a meta equiv to foward and also just a plain link. Then you can just link the people to your site - site.com/the_company/

    Hope this helps!
