I know this may sound stupid but when text links are involved im curious about something. Does it matter what the link title is? or just that the link goes to your website... Can someone explain this to me? For example my site is digitalpoint.com I make a text link like this: <a href"http://www.digitalpoint.com">DOES IT MATTER WHATS IN HERE?</a>
Hitboy, what you're referring to is called 'anchor text', and, IMHO, is one of the single most important things that you can master in your efforts to rank better. Do a search on DP for the phrase as there has been endless discussions about it. Alternatively, I've written a bit more about it here if that's any use. You might even want to apply the concept to the links in your signature Good luck, Phlegm...
In my experience, the title text should match the site's title tag in the HTML. In other words, if the you are link to has title tag called "Oh My God", then use this "Oh My God" in the title attributes in the anchor tag.
Yes it mathers what Anchor Text you use Use anchor texts (puting keyphrases there) so the rankings go up and up
so the actually domain doesnt matter right so for example my site hutsy I dont have to put hutsy into the anchor text right? Just put search engine etc?
always put the keyword related to your website in the anchor text. <a href="www.digitalpoint.com">Digitalpoint Solution</a>
It is not use putting Just Your company name in the 'anchor text' if You are selling something like "blue Monkyes". Then You will want to put "blue Monkyes" in the link text. Then You will start to rank for that. If this is a new company, no one will search for a name they do not know.
