Hi, Which one do you think is better???

    Text link with anchor point

    or

    Banner with Alt tag

    ???

I think banner is better for traffic and text link is better for SERP....

    Am I thinking right???

    Thanks in advance

I think link with anchor, and description below it, is better for both.

I think if you are looking for conversions than a great banner is the way to go. This depends a great deal of course on the site which it is placed.

If SEO is your only concern (and its a fairly unrelated site) then anchor text is the way to go with a description if possible.

    Cheers

    Hi,

If you have a limited budget and don't know exactly where is the targeted traffic, just go for text links that help your search engine rankings, so much more valuable in the long run.

I use linkmarket and there are many good link opportunities. But there are also sites that will put your link very deep, say 5 links from the main page, you have to see where they put links before you agree onn a link exchange.

If you want lots of text links at no cost, try the co-op from Digital Point (who hosts this forum). Just go to their homepage and click on Co-op Ad Network and sign up. I got so many free links to my site, which really improved my search engine rankings more than anything else.

You can sign up with my link (http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/ad-network/?s=424), or just go there directly.

    Keep us posted!

It may actually do more than you think...sometimes it takes a while before they show up in the directories. I use the free tool by Marketleap to monitor my backlinks (www.marketlink.com/publinkpop/), and they check the major engines. You can also measure yourself against competitors and others in your industry. How long ago did you start in the co-op?

When you sign up in the co-op, it measures your site's contribution to the network by assigning it a weight (calculated by your PageRank, the number of pages indexed in G, and how many ads you display for the co-op).

You can see what others have relative to yours by visiting the Co-op's forum here...there's really a broad range of numbers. The higher your weight, the more text ads you get to have on other sites.

    I hope that makes sense,

I had marginal luck with the coop ad program with my site - maybe I should have looked into it further rather than canceling... hmm... seems as though its working well for many.

linkmarket.net is REAL GOOD. I would try to gte both the text link and the banner link, if possible. Text link going to a different page and the banner going to somewhere else. ;)

IMHO banner links are almost useless (in terms of serps position)
