Well I just installed Text Link Ads on one of my sites. I hope it does good. I'm really worried that advertisers won't be able to find my site to advertise on. Has anyone here had experience with Text Link Ads? If so, what are your usual monthly earnings (please provide some info regarding your site's stats and PageRank along with that too)? I'm hoping to make at least $100 per month from them. Also, it's okay to have Text Link Ads and Google Ads on the same page right? Thanks.
I have tried TLA on a pr5 site with decent traffic but didn't get even 1 link sale after a month. I would use them anyway because you don't really have anything to lose, but in my experience there are not enough buyers for an average site to make money.
They have a very, very appealing rate for publishers which is bad from the advertiser's point of view. I've been with them for 6 months and I've only had a handful of links with them, but they pay well. Probably the most appealing thing about them is the referral program - $25 for a sign-up. I wrote a minireview about TLA not long ago which some people might find handy. math20 is right to say it's worth signing up with them because you've nothing to loose.
Yes, it's fine to run them alongside Adsense, since they're not considered a contextual-type competitor. I signed up with them but didn't get any link sales, so can't comment on earnings. My feeling is you might be able to find just as many potential customers and cut yourself a better deal by selling links directly in the Buy/Sell forum here.
