Text-Link-Ads Sale Percentage

Is it just me, or does it suck when you know your links on text-link-ads.com are selling for $40 a pop, yet you only make $8 out of that $40? Thats a pretty small percentage of the sale that I pocket.

5 links at $40 each is $200 for them and only $40 for you?

I'm new to buying/selling links, but it seems hard to actually make any decent money through it.

I was under the impression you get 50% of income collected.

You probably are getting 50%. But if you just sold the link today the whole %50 wont show for this month, only for the days remaning. For easy math sake I will use this example.

TLA sells a link for $10 TODAY
3/4 of the month is complete so they are only charging the link buyer $2.50 for the rest of this month. In turn you only get $1.25.

Just wait until next month and you will see the full %50 because it was paid for a full month.

So they charge per calender month instead of monthly from purchase date?

I think you mean they charge monthly from the purchase date, but pay affiliates only for monies earned in the calender month.

It seems odd to me as it would take more work by a programmer to calculate earnings from a sale and those paid to affiliate in two different ways.

I'm sure there is more to it than what I am understanding.

Ohhh I see what your saying. I didn't realize they pro-rated the prices like that. That'd explain why I only got $8 something, since theres only a week or so left in the month.

I'm siked on it if I get $20 per link, every 30 days then. Thats not bad.

See, that's what I thought in the first place. I just never thought about it being pro-rated.

    Thanks for the clarification guys!

What about fill-rate? I am planning to register there but do the yfill all of your ad space? What is your experience?
