How does Google feel about publishers (websites) using this service as a way to sell links? Will they penalize the whole site or just the page where the links are on? Is it worth using this service?

Google penalizes the selling sites ability to pass on any value to outbound links, and usually devalues their actually Pagerank to 0, it does not however effect search engine results positioning.

No affect on your search results at all.

It's worth using if you have a decent enough website - otherwise you'll only get about $10 a month.

    My site

My home page is a PR4. Not bad, and I don't think I would want to lose it. Do you recommend do it or no? This month I'm averaging around 2,000 uniques and climbing. I did some changes a while ago which causes my site to bomb, but coming back up now.

    go for it.

I have an abandoned site with over a dozen paid links (including 1 casino link) - its still a PR3 and generates 50-100 daily uniqs from search engines.

I think some people are still getting away with this although many sites have lost PR value in the last month or so. I think Google is starting to get a better nahdle on companies like Text Link Ads and that their days are limited

Depends if you care about PR ... SERPS aren't greatly effected when Google penalises a site and so long as you don't provide a link to TLA from your site G may not notice (no guarantees)...

Do not put text ads in your website.Google may penalize your site heavily.

Try putting google ads in your website.

I think a lot of you are not reading what Google actual says.

They punish sites that sell links to directly influence SE rankings.

You can sell links if its genuine and the sites you link to are worthy of your visitors :)

Just don't put too many outgoing links on the page.
You need some $$ to pay for hosting, domain, ...

Good info. For not, I think I will stick with Adsense. There seems to be too many unknowns about selling links
