I nearly started using this site as id heard a lot about them but they take 50% that just killed it for me... i know it cuts out your advertising work etc but how hard is it to make a few niche specific forum posts?! Id probably use them if they cut down this 50% thing but die to the amount of people that do use them i cant see that happening anytime soon so il contine making my posts and taking 100%
What do you lose by not making that 50%? Is there something mutually exclusive you're doing that if you do TLA's you can't do and will miss out? 50% of $200 is still $100. I like $100...
but what im saying is, its easy to sell text links yourself and if you like $100 imagine how much you'd like $200?! if i were to use TLA's id overprice my text links just so that i could re-coup some of the 50% their taking off me I just dont see why people are happy giving away 50% of their potential earnings unless of course your running tons of websites and just frankly don't have the time.
Why not try it out and see how it works for you? It can be additional income so it's not like you would be losing anything. Besides - remember to take advantage of their affiliate program. You get $25 per referred client & publisher.
No but what im saying is im selling all my links myself just from a few niche specific forum posts ----- minimum effort. Id rather do a 'little' leg work and take 100% of profits rather than 50%
There is the added problem of the going rates for links. Currently, I've been seeing links sell for half of what TLA is asking for... You'll have MUCH better luck if you sell your self, but only if you are selling at half of what they are currently asking. I do think that 50% for the leg work is a bit much though...but only because the leg work is automated.
It really sucks...you can sell anything you want on the internet unless it will help in Google serps.. it almost seems like they are afraid if we buy a few links here and there to help us that means we will spend less on adwords and are taking out of there pocket...
It's all about the SERP in this case, and not about AdWords... you can buy and sell anything you want too, but they want you to put up paid links like they suggested (not followed) so it will not alter the SERP. It is to help the end user, not harm competitors like TLA. I mean, give me your preference... Searching to get hits from paid advertisers or searching to get hits from truly organic sites? Though, how Google does things only indirectly effects TLA (other then maybe the sites MASSIVE SERP drop). I honestly believe that the best link bought is one bought for traffic, as that pulls in the end user. If the page is worthy, those end users just may give additional (free) links... I think that using TLA can do this for MANY advertisers that can wisely choose their publishers.
I like TLA because you pay them by the month and not per click and you pick out the most relevant place for the add placement.
people are not listening to what google has said. Google will only work against paid links if they are buying the links to improve rankings. I buy Links from them to get traffic as should you all
I'm curious. While I do understand and approve of sell links yourself for 100% returns, do you have the reach to advertisers that TLA has? If so, how?
This is why TLA get 50% of your profits because they can reach your targets. Recently ive sold text links on my poker site in the forum. So to target this niche, i typed in something like 'poker affiliate forum' This found me the forum for all the poker affiliates out there that are worth mentioning. so i signed up, aswell as learning an unbelievable amount of stuff from the forum i made a post in the 'buy/sell text links' section and bang you get your target audience... was that so hard that you'd give away 50% of your potential earnings? But like i say i can understand people using TLA's if they run many sites and just dont have the time for this, but even then its a few minutes to type a search in google and find your niche
Yeah, I agree it would be best to go direct. It can be tough finding certain niches. They do seem a bit pricey.
I use TLA and can recommend it although 50% is a lot for them to take! Signed up with Smorty and love it!
I'm a new TLA advertiser(took the $100 off) and I will be doing a complete review after it's over. In total, I got 11 links plus 1 that I got from here(cheaper). I have 8 PR6, 3 PR5 and 1 PR0. The last one is not in my niche like the others but people may want to download 1 Cool File. It's also a hot blog right now with traffic. I got 2 non-English site. TLA publishers: mentioned if it's not English, some do that. I decided to keep them anyway but would had preferred to know it in advance. At the end, I will see which one was the best performer to send me traffic with a cost/visitor. That's the main goal. If I get a better PR, so be it but I need traffic first for my download site. They don't click often on ads so far. For now, I stop "buying" links because I have other plans with my money. Expect a logo contest For those thinking going direct, don't expect advertiser paying you the same amount. TLA has cost, people, quality control.... Yes, 50% is too much. I would like to see less so that more money will be in the pocket of the publisher.
Hello, I think for Google team is very easy to know about Who is buying and selling links in Text Link Ads dot com. Best, Jakomo+
