Text based advertising & Google pagerank

    What do you think about text based advertising exchange? It leads to higher Goggle PageRank for website??
    I mean: You display Text Ads of other users on your pages and in return your own links are displayed across the exchange network, for eg. like LinksPromote.com

    I think they both can lead to success, Text-links and pagerank will lead to good search engine results for traffic, but not as many clicks of the text-link advertised. But banners will get more clics but no long term search engine clicks.

    It's also good to have backlinks for similar to your content sites
