text-ad PPC VS video-ad PPC

I have recently launched an advertising service that uses 30 seconds promotional videos to pre-qualify traffic to advertiser’s websites. You can read the Tyler Cruz publisher spot review for full details. .

Basically we’re offering the highest quality targeted traffic available, and at the moment it is free. Since launching our goal tracking service, our members are finding that the traffic is converting to sales at a much higher rate than text ads.

So the main benefit is more sales, but if we start to charge per click it will be at a higher cost..

For example. Assuming you’re selling widgets at $50 each and video ads convert twice as well.

    $100 spend in Text Ads PPC @$1 per click (100 vistors) = $250 profit ($50 x 5 sales )

    $100 spend on Video Ads PPC @$2 per click (50 visitors) = $250 profit ($50x 10 sales)

So my question is, if the Net Profit is the same, would you rather have more sales or less sales?

The advantage of video is that since your visitor is pre-educated there is less chance of them emailing you with questions.

I am running a thread in the DP general marketing forum where I’m creating promotional video ads for DP members for free. You can find links to some of the some videos there if you’re interested in applying to have a video created for free or seeing the ones that have been completed.
