Say you have a domain and have done a BIG link wheel, pauls+angela method, 1000 dir submissions, submitted to Yahoo dir/BOTW/HotvsNot/etc, wrote articles offsite linking back and wrote good quality articles onsite. But your still not in that #1 spot, your #3-5..... In your professional opinions, would getting links from these places who get relevant backlinks on pr3+ domains such as Text Ad Links, would only like 2-5 backlinks help out with not such a high competitive keyword phrases with less than 100k pages and only 1,200 ppl searching for that 1 keyword? What do you guys think?
If you are going to buy links, why not discretely approach the site owner and make your request/offer?
Im basically asking how powerful can just 2-5 relevant backlinks from these places are for SERPS to reaching that #1 position when you have tried everything else for months?
Well, I once had a DMOZ editor move a site of mine from a PR6 upper level cat to a PR0 cat buried in the netherlands, and the site in question went from #2 to page 3. I was unable to locate any other significant change. (This was back when we still saw the dance.) I have heard anecdotal stories of the same thing happening to others.
