When I first added text based ads to my site I matched the fonts and colors of site's links. I was not trying to get accidental clicks, but the Adsense selections were inconsistent with my design and clashed visually. After a few weeks of reading here I started to worry that Google might think my text ads violate their TOS. So I changed them.My revenue dropped immediately about $7 to $12 per day. Obviously, I don't want to throw away $300/month, so I'm anxious to switch back. The question, of course, is is this completely stupid? Will my greed cost me my account?I never thought the ads were deceptively colored. If you read them you'd know they were ads and not site navigation. They also had a different layout and the Adsense labeling.Thoughts anyone?Advice on alternative coloring that would perform better than generic would be great!
I'm planning to switch back to the matched ad layout once I receive my first check. Should be about a week.
I've received my first payment so I'm hoping the scrutiny of my site is complete. I've switched the text ads back to the matched font face and colors. Hopefully, my revenue will rebound.
There are lot of Adsense publishers who are matching Text ads's fonts and colors with site's fonts and color. Nothing to worry.
I appreciate the response. I know I'm being a bit paranoid, but I've stumbled upon a little golden goose whose care and feeding I know little of. So I am proceeding cautiously. Thank you.
research is good, but not to that extent where you hurt your revenue... We call it google adsense optimisation ... wish you good luck
