    I let you guys know later if this stuff (=getting there) was worth doing and if it affected my site traffic.

    Okay, test done. Few hundred additional visitors on that day (and I actually was mentioning about this in several forums) so not such a huge spike.

    I like the idea of 'cool site of the day' but paying money for submission.... well, let's say that I think there might be better places to put your money. (the good thing is that the link remains on that site archives)

    the thing is you should have niches. Like cool dog sites and such because no one wants to visit a bunch of irrelevant websites.. :)
