If by chance they do not add the deep links, then by all means take it upon yourself to browse their site, evaluate it, and add them according to your own conclusions
When I'm finished up with my version, you'll be able to allow the customers to choose exactly how many deep links they want.
Thats a sound advice.. Will be doing that now onwards I am waiting for your unique and interesting verions.
Why are you so much against image verification. For example, if it's only a few digits, and really easy to read. I have been adding and removing this option and each time I remove it I get spam. Now it has been a while without spam so I am thinking of leaving it out for good, but I don't think this should carry any weight when deciding if a directory is worth submitting to. It sounds like image verification is your pet peeve As for deep links, I think it is good to have both, with and without deeplinks because some people simply do not need this option. But having deeplinks, at least as an option, is a must.
Just to let fellow directory owners know, that General Directory has got deeplink options now. So has Add-Url-Directory
I agree with you Jeff.It is definitely worth it!As it gives submitters option to use anchor texts on deeplinks to improve rankings of inner pages too oh and btw Jeff that's not unknown directory..it's also popular directory.. Saad
Captchas aren't always easy to read, and hit the wrong key, more time wasted. I know Chris submits about 20 sites at a time so 'time is money' I had Rob install deeplink mod when Chris made a post about the value, within 24 hours I'd made a profit, so had Rob, Chris was happy... So why all the complaints
101$ percent I agree with you jeff. During the development stage of my Web Directory, I installed only deep links mod I did get submissions without even officially launching my directory (I haven't yet also, launch has a lot of time more ). But lately I got some feedbacks that the prices were too high, so I just got my Link Type mod also installed by anon which gives submitters many choices according to his budget. Deep Links is a must mod for every directory but Link Type mod along with it adds as an Icing on the Cake! Yes its done on my Web Directory, thanks anon!
yup i do that all the time, but the continuous support of the users here i think i might need to hire an editor lol to reveiw these links constantly
i think it helps. When i promote my directories, many ask "do you support deep links". It seems that a lot are willing to pay. For example, people with a main domain want a directory as part of their site. They dont want to make another domain. So the directory becomes a subdomain, therefore deeplinks are vital to them
I have replied on this in numerous other threads (so sorry for those who have read all this before ). As mentioned, I submit around 29 sites to most directories. If the directory uses image validation, no matter how easy it is to read, it takes longer to submit (entering the characters). As everyone knows, some are not clear, and mistakes are common, which slows down the process that much more (especially on forms with deep link fields, because the deep links don't remain). There is certainly no shortage of directories that I need to work on. So, if a directory uses image validation, I will usually skip it as my time is better spent elsewhere. It's quite aggravating to have to re-enter the image validation when it comes up incorrect, and I don't like to waste time...I don't have nearly enough of it as it is. Hope this helps better explain.
Just before Rob added the deep link mod I took image verification off and will be doing it to my other directories as well, as I had some people complain that they couldn't submit because of it and with the spam guard installed also, I have no problems anymore
