Testing ModReWrite in home pc with WindowsXP

Are there any ways to test the modrewrite before uploading files to server?

Im using WinXP and IIS5.x.

Do I have to install Apache server in my pc to test modrewrite?

Im a newbie to this things. Your guidance would be a great help for me.

Note: My webserver is running apache on linux.

Try xampp.
