    hi

i use a windows vista laptop, i have ie7 and other latest browsers, i need to test how my html pages look in ie6 on my laptop.

can anyone suggest any solution where in i can test my html pages developed locally on my laptop to see how it will look in ie6 without having to

upload my html and css files to any website rather test it locally.

    please advice.

    thanks

If you want to check your website, you can check out many different browsers on browsershots.org

IETester seems to be the one to use right about now, although there's also Multiple IE, but I think this comes in 2nd compared to IETester but you'll have to look into it.

And obviously for the most comprehensive solution you can install a virtual P.C and install IE6 on it...

that or boot up an old P.C with it on..

I still find IETester too buggy for daily use, and a bit convoluted at that - though it's really starting to show some progress.....

I prefer to run MultipleIE as it seems more 'true' to how each of the browsers works.

I switched to IETester from multipleIEs about one year ago. I need both IE6, IE7, and IE8, but multipleIEs hasn't updated in the past 2 years. It only supports IE3~6. That's why I think IETester is adapted. And yes, IETester is buggy, sometimes make me want to suicide myself :(

    7 is a separate download
    http://tredosoft.com/IE7_standalone

Though I think the real reason IETester is so popular is it's the only native app that lets you run them in Vista...

In the bloated train wreck known as vista, it's either IETester or running XP inside a VM.

Yeah IETester always seems to crash, "IE Tester has crashed an needs to close" or something along those lines of the typical XP crash message..

And my P.C is definately not buggy, in-fact this is the only program which seems to crash, so obviously a problem with their software.
