testing Google adsense search on your website

    Hello,

I have added the adsense for search code to my website and I would like to test it, if the it is working on my website but I am afraid doing that because I do not know if it is allowed to search in your own website with Google adsense for search. I do not want to click on any of the results but I just want to search for a keyword to see, if it can find it on my website.

I appreciate any suggestion, if I am allowed to do that.

As far as i know - you can search as much as you like but DO NOT click the ads in the search results.
My suggestion is to stay away from your own search bar =)

you can tell someone to search something or you can search yourself but you cannot click on any search results. but if the code is displaying the search box, it should be working

This is from adsense help center:

I think is ok for just a test and as long as you do not click the ads on search result.

If you are that worried.. just go through a webproxy to test it out. Make sure you get one that totally makes you anonymous.

Just make sure you delete ALL your cookie data before you do that. That is really the only way google knows it is you.. oh.. that toolbar too.. heck.. just go over to your buddies place and try it out :)

No problem as long as you hold your clicks from ads....

You can do any search you want, just do not click on the ads that are shown in the search results.

the google search on my site is often the quickest way for me to find something and I use it very often.
as said above, no problem as long as you don't click on the ads on the results page.

I agree with talpod here. I have done this with my sites too few months back and have never faced any problem. But gain, make sure to avoid clicking on your own ads even by mistake. Simple searches/queries are fine to test your site's functionality IMO.
