Testing adsense on blog

    My first blog is near completion. Last step is to add adsense.

    How can I add the adsense code to my blog while I fine tune it, view it, etc, without having impressions actually appear in the adsense stats.

    I know I can use gif images of the adsense, but I'd prefer to use the real code rather then gif images since I'm not on the last leg of my blog setup.

    Thank you

    Why would it matter to you if the ads show impressions in the adsense stats? As long as you don't create invalid clicks you will be fine.

    if you are done with your site, then you can add adsense and test it. few impressions will not hurt as long as you are not clicking on the ads to test. and if you are really concerned about the impressions and think that there might be too many, then you can generate the adsense code and put it on your site and remove the publisher id. that way it will still show the ads but will not get credited on your account. but again, few impression for testing is fine.

    why are you worrying about impressions ?

    u can use the actual ads code and view your blog for as many times as u can, but yes, NEVER click on your own ads, always be extra careful while dealing with your own ads

    Yeah, no need to worry about it.

    Google knows that some publishers look at their own sites a lot each day, so they won't ban you for that. Just don't click on them!

    Add this line of code to your adsense code:
    google_adtest='on';

    (don't forget the ; as well).
    Now, the impressions don't count, and even clicks don't count.
    So, you can view and click your ads and test your site.
    This is an official way to do it, not a gimmick.
    Just don't forget to delete the code once you're done lol.
    (sounds obvious but I bet many people forget)
