Testing ad without launching

I am looking to test a few ads and see how they would perform but im looking to do so without actually launching them and thus costing me money as I would like at least some idea on how they would perform before investing in it. Could anyone advise me on how to do this?

 

I may not be following your question here but if you don't put it on front of anyone there is literally nothing to split test.

 

I was hoping there would be some way to get statistics in terms of likelihood of impressions, I understand that I couldn't get data on clicks as there would be no one to click on them, but is there no way to see the estimated number of impressions without launching?
