Hi there, I've just released the first version of a minigame. It's a browser based game written in PHP. It's a small game at the moment and doesn't have much functionality, however once the base is firm I will build up and layer more updates. If anyone would be so kind as to volunteer black-box testing it, even for a few minutes, I would be very grateful. Those who are interested please see: www.civsonline.com Thank you.
Why don't you want to sign up? It's a 5 sec sign up - just username and password. Yeah I'm English too, it's a game mate. Not every country has representation.
nice mini game but why don't you use jquery/ajax to update page without page reload. it will be more friendly and easy ... just my suggestion. good luck!
That's a good suggestion. I've mixed in some simple javascript functions, but don't intend on using asynchronous JS until I've perfected the look of the site. Even though the game is live and the players active, the game is still very much changing - which is largely part of the attraction for a lot of the players.
Thanks, nice of you to be so kind. I've been working my arse off big time. Pumping out a couple big updates every day and it has only been around for 4 days. It keeps the players very happy, which is all I care about at the moment.
Thanks Jaret, glad you like it. You're right that it's more text based, however there's a very big update upcoming which will add more graphics. By the way, sign up to our forums if you'd like to get the most out of the game. I'd say about 80% of all the features (which I update very often) have been player suggested.
The intention is to have a modern warfare browser-based game, similar to a simulator, but more fun I suppose. You choose a leader and become a commander under their rule and nation. You can battle, build infrastructure, train troops, buy and sell on a global market and a few other actions. Like I've mentioned, I have a big overhaul coming very soon which will introduce a more in-depth graphical interface and features like alliances, diplomacy, domestic policies, to name a few.
Thanks mytemplate. There have been big changes lately to the look and workings of the game. Much more ergonomic GUI and more game play features too.
