The inline ads doesnt do very well. This seems to be because the inline ad is so new and they havent been able to make it work properly. Many publishers have also reported that one day there is full of inline ads and other days there is not a single one. Their targeting is also crappy. Sure you cant expect too much from category ads...

The most succesfull ad format is the standard text links (dont confuse these with the banner ads).

    I
I've always done fairly well with SEO marketing. I have avoided PPC advertising for years because of the fraud stories that I keep hearing. I'm thinking about trying PPC to get some sales while I wait for a a brand new site to get spidered.

I'm not seeing much praise for PPC in any of these forum discussions. Is there a good PPC program out there? Also, I'm not certain that I understand the use of the term "interstitial" used in some of the posts here.

    :)

I did a search at google for ppc adverstising and found a site which reviews PPC search programs. They are at http://www.payperclicksearchengines.com/.

They claim to review 198 different programs. Following is their current top 10 list.

Top 10 PPC Search Engines for April, 2007

    1. Google AdWords
    2. Yahoo! Search Marketing
    3. MIVA
    4. Enhance
    5. GoClick
    6. MSN AdCenter
    7. 7Search
    8. Search123
    9. SearchFeed
    10. ABCSearch

There have GOT to be at least a few PPC programs worth using or how do they stay in business?

Interstitial means an ad in between pages. Adwords and Yahoo search marketing are good PPC companies. I've never done PPC myself, but the general opinion that I get here at DP is not that PPC companies are bad, it's that it's very hard to actually have success with them. You need to really know what you're doing because they're constantly adjusting things, and if you don't know what you're doing your bids will go up.
