Terrible CTR, 'Poor' Quality Score

    I have just started a campaign for my website with relevant keywords and localized to my city.
    Over the last three days, I have had 1000+ impressions and 1 click.
    All my keywords have a minimum bid of over $0.80 and a "Poor" QS.

    My site is has the keywords scattered throughout the landing page, is not a subdomain, and the ad has three variations with different calls to action.

    I have my default bid set a $1.00+ and some are set even higher.

    Why am I not getting any clicks!?!?!? :( :(

    How many ad variations do you have ? Test a few different ads to see what works for your customers.

    Do you have content network on? that's ads shown in the adsense program. It can run up impressions very quickly. the good news - a bad click-through rate on that doesn't influence your quality score. However, a bad click-through rate on search, does.
    Most people turn content off, then if they want to advertise like that, make another campaign for content alone.
    If that's not what's running up impressions - people just don't like your ad.
    As for the bad quality score - the keywords, landing page and ad text need to be 'working together'

    check if your keywords are inactive... if it is then you either need to update bid or change Ads, landing page and grouping keywords

    You probably using too many unnecessary keywords.

    1. Delete the ones that are too broad. Group the keywords into tight adgroup.

    2. Write a good ad for each adgroup, putting the keyword in the title and using it through out the ad as often as possible.

    3. I would suggest to switch off the content network.

    4. Adjust your bids, and check where do you appear in search results. You position might be too low

    5. Check your landing page. As a general rule, don't put your home page as a destination url.

    Okay, I think I figured it out, but can someone correct me if I'm wrong!

    What I have now:
    One ad group with all my keywords eg;
    ---------------------
    "suburb1 Real Estate"
    "suburb2 Real Estate"
    "suburb3 Real Estate"
    "Real Estate"
    "Real Estate Agents"
    "Company Name"
    "Free Appraisal"
    etc.
    ----------------------

    What I should have (?):
    Ad Group 1:
    ---------------------------
    {keyword: suburb1} Real Estate
    {keyword: suburb1} Property
    {keyword: suburb1} Agents
    {keyword: suburb1} Appraisals
    --------------------------

    Ad Group 2:
    ---------------------------
    {keyword: suburb2} Real Estate
    {keyword: suburb2} Property
    {keyword: suburb2} Agents
    {keyword: suburb2} Appraisals
    --------------------------

    etc..


    Is that right?

    Grouping similar keywords together is very important.

    I'm thinking I shouldn't normally use such a broad term as "Real Estate", but if I have it geotargeted to my city, would it be such a bad idea?

    edit:
    Also, can you use {keyword:} backwards eg; {suburb1 :keyword} ?

    I don't use DKI(Dynamic Keywords Insertion), and I wouldn't suggest to use it. Instead create an ad for each keyword.

    You shouldn't (as a general rule) bid on broad keywords, but IMO it depends on your niche.
