you have an arcade site and 90% of your visitors do not return? wow. you are not going to be in this business for very long. if you cant keep your visitors you've already lost. so to that, take what you can while you can and dont quit your day job.

Well of course 90% was an exaggeration.

Sheesh. I was just trying to get the point across!

What's the deal with Yahoos relevancy? I've noticed that it's been pretty bad on my site as well. Now that Yahoo has Panama out, which is a really nice system for advertisers, you would think they'd be putting a lot of effort into improving YPN so better ads are shown and more ads are clicked.

Although this post is about a month old I find it interesting. If you look at the ads on display today - April 23, you see something very interesting. Google ads are relevant and Yahoo ads are not. Same site.

Right, Yahoo has gone from a few relevant ads to none.

Haha wow. Looking at some of the ads on one of my text messaging sites, I see ads for:

    Tehama In Carmel California
Graduate School For The Healing Arts
    and
    Become A Life Coach Now

How the heck does Yahoo think these have anything to do with text messaging??!

on my arcade site i have ads for:

    jobs at T-Mobile
    Fix Spas
    Internet Dating in Dallas
    Lodging at Eurka

and this is using their suggested category of Books-Music, etc.!

grrr. how they can kick anyone out for bad conversions when they can't serve any relevant ads is beyond me.

    I even got
    'Gay Sperm Bank for Lesbians'
in my cooking website. No, I'm not kidding. :(
Whatever I choose as ad targeting (even something remotely related to food and cooking) 90% of ads displayed are totally off topic.
The good thing is they know they are completely messed up.
The bad thing is they say it will be much better when they come out of beta... (doh!) , so last time I called I asked when this is supposed to be: of course no answer was given.
    Amen.

It is a known issue with them. Later they will have a reason for terminating us saying that our traffic is not converting.

I just called them yesterday - because my article directory was getting the same 4 ads on every page and article - no matter the topic. wierd thing is - the articles taht have been around longer and are more popular seem to be fine...

The technician I spoke to said that they would take screen shots and send it over to another department that would get back in touch with me within 48 hours... we will see..
