curious as to what some of the terms you guys use around here. i was reading this site for a few days before i signed up. a few i remember offhand are serp, and wsiyg or something. what do these terms mean and whatnot?
SERP is Search Engine Ranking Position. self-explanatory. WYSIWYG is pronounced wee-zee-weeg. What You See Is What You Get. refers to editors like Frontpage and Dreamweaver, where what you see during editing is what you will see when you publish the site.
ah ok thanks. are there other terms i forgot offhand? at least i don't feel like a total noob now when i see those i always wondered wth a WYSIWYG editor was.
are there WYSIWYDG editors? what you see is what you dont get editors? because dreamweaver def seems more as such to me sometimes =]
Another term(s) is "Organic search" and "paid search." Organic search refers to the search results (i.e. ranking high for keywords in the results) and paid search refers to the ads that show up (i.e. ranking high for keywords in the adsense either on pages or on the sides). Sounds easy enough when you see both organic and paid search mentioned, but when everyone's talking about organic search then it's not so obvious what they mean.
