ok im currently writing up my business plan. Mow i want to know how do i go about setting up my terms and conditions and all the agreements a user who signs up will have to abide to in order to protect both of us? Also how much does it cost?
Find a lawyer who has done it before and doesn't need to learn on your dime. The cost will vary depending on what type of site you have and how complicated the user agreements are. Some are very simple and should run a few hundred dollars. On the other hand, I have a client who processes medical records online, the users are hospitals and the fees can get very large. Meeting the regulatory requirements and getting all the economic terms covered was a lot more work than for a typical website and the cost was much larger. Likewise, when I have written terms and conditions for financial institutions, there was more work and the cost, as a result, was much higher.
