This is a good list! One thing I do is spend $37 a month and use SubmitYourArticle.com and their article leverage program. I get my article into hundreds of directories including the top ones and each article is unique from the other. Very easy to use and has helped me get over 15K backlinks doing it.
Thanks for sharing the list. I wonder if out there somewhere is some research done showing what's best? So many different methods are recommended. I guess I'll just have to experiment and see.

That is a good way to rank them according to alexa ranking. Actually the important part is that you can try to rank on google by writing for these sites for competitive keywords because of their authority. Once you are ranked in google u get some tracking and your article page gets more authority. That is when it starts helping your backlinks. Untill then its a waiting game.

I use Ezine & Go Articles as they are highly ranked with Google for indexing & try to now submit 20 articles a week. I find writing original content difficult & quite tedious at times, but the long term rewards can be quite healthy. Mark
