No matter how much I know this is a scam, it is still difficult to press the delete key. --------------------------------------------------------------
LOL what a morons, sending an email like that to the webmaster of a search engine FAQ website. TODAY! Yeah right
Did they leave you any contact details? Il play it dumb and ask them if i could be first for the term google or something.
I get those emails all the time. I know they are spam as I don't use emails like" " or "salesmanager@mydomain.com" But they are tempting, and once I clicked on the link just for the sheer fun of it. A spam site telling me in glowing terms how they got to number one in google, yahoo and 5000 other search engines in less than 24 hours. Here is how to get to number one in any search engine... Pick a search term that nobody would think of using... Like: world's top notch expert in purple grass Put that in your meta tags and your main content. Wait a week or so, then use that search term. Voila! You are number one in google, yahoo, msn for that search term. That's all these scammers do, is pick a search term that no one is actually searching for.
I was bored at my last job and actually replied to one of these emails and said: "Ok, please tell me how to get to the top of all these search engines, I would love to know. Have one of your reps call me at xxx-xxx-xxxx". A day later someone actually did call me, an American lady with an extremely poor sales pitch. She said that for a fee they would basically use Adwords and YSM to get my ad to the "top" What a great "unique service".
That's one of the features that intrigued me about this spam, the part where it said "THIS IS NOT PAY PER CLICK." I start thinking "Hey, I have a few domains that aren't making any money anyway..." And then I think "Never reward spammers. Never never never never." But maybe if I just torment them for information about their service, it won't count as rewarding them?
may be.. I would definitely reply, just out of curiosity , but from some temporary email address only...
I also get emails like that. I am now getting well over 100 spam emails a day. Why don't people just stop wasting their time as I don't read one of them anyway. They just get deleted and don't even get read.
