A slightly unusual problem here. We've just published a new version of our site and unintentionally changed our homepage url from www.domain.com to www.domain.com/html/index.html. We are integrating a CMS shortly that will allow the url to return to normal but for the time being we have lost our original url which had built up some good google rankings. We cannot use a permenant redirect as it is only a temporary problem and cannot use htaccess rewrite as we are running the site on IIS which does not support mod rewrite. I wonder is there a way to tell google that one url has temprarily changed to another one?
