Any body had any luck with template sponsorship. So far I have sponsored 5 templates and only 1 down load that has stuck Not a good ROI so far Was hoping to at least get 5 - 10 downloads
Well, are those templates great? Are they free? You need to promote them in various ways -- email the link to your friends and colleagues, tell them an interesting story about how you were overcome with inspiration and created those templates, so your friends wouldn't be stuck with the boring stock wordpress templates out there... something along those lines. a story always sells. All that said, Google has openly stated that it considers sponsored Wordpress templates spammy (you can read more about those at the link building respource in my signature (I think this part is in post 5).
I created a home cinema theme and then I put it on a few audio visual sites as a free download, at present 6 months on I have over 300 downloads all with my link in the footer
My templates have been submitted to over 50 sites. Some of them are forums and not great, but there are at least 20 free template sites. Anyone recommend a good place to submit a template for download
This is actually a very good idea I have never thought about. So if I create few nice templates and offer them to be downloaded free of charge on the Internet, then each download and activation of my theme is actually a backlink for me. Very good idea )) Thanks...
