template sites are bad indexed?

I am comparatively new to SEO and wanted to clarify that.

Not all template sites get poorly indexed. If you fill those templates with original content and maybe make a few changes then you have nothing to worry about.

 

Some works fine. It is always better to go with classical method with new technology. Try use pure css.

 

Don't worry about templates, its the content that matters.

They are a lot of high ranking forums using vBulletin

Annie7, are you talking about a site using a template design, or are you talking about an affiliate site trying to sell templates? In both cases, you need to work on adding lots of content.

 

Yes. As far as SEO is concerned, template does not matter much. It's the content.
However, as far as visitors are concerned, a unique template goes a long way into having a positive opinion of your site.

 

Search spiders only read text, so if you use a template, it needs not to be flash or images, but text. If your template is an image, then alt tags are vital for the spider to read in order to index.
