Since Dreamhost offered you burst ram, that means they are using Virtuozzo virtualization for their VPS's. Virtuozzo is based on sharing resources and you can't always use them. I use Xen for as my virtualization platform which basically means that all listed resources are 100% dedicated to you so performance is consistent.

I am offering a basically managed service for the VPS which is setting up the server and optimizing it to run your site which needs high mysql performance. Also the control panel is free.

Anyway, the reason you got a bunch of $2.50 - $5 offers is because any time someone posts here asking for hosting, users are like "omg, time to post my oversold hosting plan and don't bother to read what the person is asking for". Although, in this case its slighly different since you weren't purely specific on what you needed so some might interpret it incorrectly.

I just want to keep my DB on any server which is cheap n reliable. I will keep my DB for 1 month n will see if I am k or not. But will pay for that month. So, just see whose having which offer for me.

 

Sounds to me like you need more space than CPU power for those 65,000 wallpapers. How much traffic was the site getting ? What kind of wallpapers ?

Maybe you would like to entertain a sponsored deal ? (free hosting in exchange for a banner on your site's pages)

 

Sorry Scoopy its not like that. I have very high quality wallpapers but right now the site is not working as I said b4. So, the deal is only to keep my DB on your server n all files I will keep on my server.

 

Hypervm does burstable ram too. I can provide the remote mysql for your site but of course you have to try it out for a month like you said.

 

So Grab whats your deal. I like to try. Coz I think shared sql will not solve my problem. Those who are offering less than $10/mo please think again.

I am still positively sure that we can handle this on our regular (NOT oversold) shared server... with just some basic maintenance done to that database. We do not operate like DH or others that try to "upsell" you.

I am guessing your database has never been optimized (kind of a defragmenting process). That should be all that is necessary to make everything run smooth again. We would be willing to take care of this for you and then continue to optimize your database once a month, if you like (or we can show you... its easy). We already do this for another client. And we also run several G2 setups on various servers.
