Tell me about your boss.Is he/she a good boss or a bad boss?

Sometimes I think I am a bad boss.I do try to motivate my staff and try and be understanding to my employees.But I also lose my temper when things go wrong and can be mean.I feel guilty afterwards.
So tell me about your boss,and if you are a boss,what kind of a boss are you?

It's not a secret to my employees,their nickname for me is "The Dragonlady" I've heard them say it.

 

k why you nick named dragonlady you will bite your employees ah ? lol

my boss expect punctuality so i am dont like this from my boss i am not a gandhiji to keep punctuality..

You must show up on time.A firm cannot operate if people are not reliable.If you wish to advance you must show dedication.Being on time shows commitment and disapline,being late shows the opposite.You would have problems with me if you were late.Then you would see why they call me the "Dragonlady" and you would never be late again.

 

ya i agree with you...when i am join job early days i went late but nowadays i changed my character ....now i keep timing

 

whenever my boss gave any work and said "its 10 min job". he expert me fast track work.. i dont like . but it's 1 hour job.....

Yes,sometimes bosses can be unreasonable.Try and talk to him about this.

 

I got no boss as of now and hope there won't be any even in coming future.

You don't have a boss,are you self employed?

 

You have to be a strong boss and make sure that your employees are working for the company and not just messing around. People need to give their Employers 100% on the days they are scheduled, so the company stays in business. It seems these days it's hard to find good customer service and people get lazy. There are days it is hard being a boss because it's like having kids... you have to stay on top of them and make sure the are doing what needs to be done. If people don't like how you run your business let them know that there is the door and you can find someone who truly wasn't to work for you. If you constantly have to be on them and have to babysit them... then you need to find better employees. Don't let others bring your dreams down.

I am a great Boss as long as you are giving me 100%... if you are taking advantage my business and costing me money then yes I do get upset. Call me names if you want but I have to make sure business is done.
You sound like a strong woman who knows how to get things done... don't let others put those negative words in your head. Tell them to watch their words or they will see DragonLady going on a firing spree

That was a super post,thanks for that.I have fired people though it is not an easy thing to do.You are taking away their income and hurting their self confidence,not to mention putting a ding on their resume.It's a decision I never take lightly though I am prepared to use the big stick if needed.

 

lol... It isn't easy to let go, but you have to take care of yourself and your company. No one else is going to do that for you. People need to live and learn, sometimes people make there life harder than it needs to be by being selfish and thinking they can do whatever they want. Life is hard and even family can take advantage of you and think they can slack off because they are family... no no you gotta let them go when that happens.

Do to others how you want done to you, is how I live my life.

Yes ditto on that.Fortunatly I have the "pleasure" of doing the hiring where I work.So...most of the employees there are young bright,self motivated with a good work ethic.However...there are one or two...you used the term "babysit".I perservere by virtue of the fact that they do have potential.I need to be patient with them and give them an oppurtunity to eventually shine.I must also assume responsibility for either having trained them properly or not.

 

my former boss was a nice guy, he let me doing anything as long as i kept making him money. i bet he miss me since now i'm making money for myself. i'm my own boss now, ftw.
