Humm. I strongly believe in telepathy.

I tried some exercises of it, but all in vain. These exercises need extra ordinary mind.

So you done some experiments to test telepathy (nothing wrong with that), the test you performed showed absolutely no evidence of telepathy, And yet you still "strongly believe" in it?

Instead of assuming that your experiments failed because someone needs an extra-ordinary mind why not just assume that it doesn't exist?

it's a bit like opening a cupboard door, Not seeing an elephant and assuming that you didn't see the elephant because your eyesight is poor. It makes no sense.

I believe it also. Sometimes I get strange feelings that I can read what my mother is thinking which turns out to be true.

Do you not think the cause of this "mind reading" is the fact that you have spent your entire life around this person. Honestly, If you haven't picked on character traits by now you should be worried.

I'm always skeptical about things like this but at the same time keep an open mind. I can't say I believe it outright but there's events that make me wonder if there may be something to it. Then again, give a bunch of monkeys typewrites you'll eventually get all of Shakespear's works so maybe it's just random. Who knows.

i may be offtopic but how about autistic people that have the capacity to work with very large numbers and they pretend to see them in air, they just think about an operation and the reponse is right in front of them. isn't it a fact scientifically demonstrated that the human brain, which we use like 3-4% of it usually in our lives, is capable of more than we are aware of ? i think that so called "paranormal powers" we all have in our brains but we just can't get over the barrier to them. After all, everything can and it will be explained by science.

No it works more for people who are determined and who exercise their skills.
Intution, extra sensory Perception and telepathy are right brained activity which is the more creative side. Though some people are gifted others can develop it by visualisation exercises practiced under skill masters.

most humans use only 10% of their mental skills. with proper training you can enhance it comprehensively!

I do believe in Telepathy. I've experienced it a lot of times. I'm sure telepathy would replace mobile and telephones in the near future.

I agree, we should probably not claim to be able to do things we cannot demonstrate. I was simply pointing out that should such a thing to exist, the first people to experience it would not be able to prove it.

And I think we would develop abilities slowly over a long period of time (by nature), or we might develop them quickly with the aid of technology.

I think most people have beliefs that can't be proven. I think it might be kinda hard to go through life only believing things that can be proven..sometimes half the fun is trying to prove something

This might be ESP but here's my experience. I never even tell my friends for the fear of being mocked at.

    1) I usually get up every morning to have a long walk and cigarettes. As I was returning one morning, I saw a few people walk clutching each other's hands and I apparently mistook them for visually impaired people. The very same afternoon just a few yards from the place I saw these people, I really saw a group of visually impaired people.

    2) Sometimes I think of old forgotten celebrities and how they dominated and I'm surprised to see their story covered on the newspaper the next instant.

    3) Songs Songs Songs... I hum a tune or I think about a song and it plays in the radio or in some public place (here loudspeakers are allowed to play songs for some campaign or the other)

There is a simple explanation for these "telepathic" experiences:

The human mind is a "meaning-making" machine. This ability, to imbue certain events with meaning (that is, the ability to understand cause and effect, and imagine consequences of actions without having to live them out), is distinctly human, and quite possibly the foremost reason humankind has evolved to rule the Earth.

Unfortunately, the brain is TOO good at finding the meaning of things--so good that it will invent one if one is not obvious. And the brain is also lazy. It picks the "path of least resistance" when creating meanings, very parsimonious meanings at that (explaining the most with the least amount of information).

Show a person a bunch of squiggles drawn randomly on a page, tell the person that there's a hidden message in those squiggles, and by God, they'll find one if their motivated enough.

Telepathy is nothing more than MEANINGFUL coincidences. You were just going to call Joe, and he called you! Since you were just thinking about calling Joe, Joe's phone call at that precise moment became very meaningful to you--much more than if you were just sitting around doing nothing and Joe called. So, your brain is left with the task of explaining this somewhat unusual occurance (your brain automatically pays close attention to unusual occurances--another useful evolutionary characteristic) and being the lazy brain it is, uses already preconceived notions or the simplest explanation it can muster to give this event some meaning that can be easily accepted by you, and let's say, in your case, it (your brain) decides it was telepathy (especially likely if you already believe in telepathy--as we tend to seek evidence that confirms our beliefs, and ignore all that does not--critical thinking takes energy and makes our lazy brains work--not good.)

So now you think you're telepathic. So what do you do? You go out looking for evidence, and you'll find it! Every previously meaningless occurance that you'd ignored many times before now passes through your "Is this a possible telepathic event?" brain-filter. (That's why there is true power in positive thinking as well--you are what you think you are).

Oh well, this is my take on things, anyway.
    Enjoy...

Perhaps a lot of people have access to these limited levels of intuition but most don't have much more then that.

On the other hand its entirely possible to test if somebody has a high level of psychic abilities:

    1. Go to DMV
    2. Wait to take Drivers Test
    3. Blindfold Psychic who is taking test
    4. Have the Psychic take the test
    5. Certify Psychic if test is passed to standard dmv specifications

Those out-of-body experiences are called "Astral Projection"...

Telephaty, is hard to prove since it can't be done on demand. It's not like a light bulb that you can switch on or off... I believe on these things since it's actually proven that we only use 10% of our brains, what are the 90% left doing. In this 10% we can walk, communicate etc... What more can we do if use everything else.
