I dont believe you can predict that he will not get another offer. Maybe his world doesnt revolve around money. It sounds like he is happy to work where he works even though he might not need to. That doesnt make him stupid
I do not understand why is the boy offer 8.5 mil but then he said, "I could walk away with about £4million — but I’m not interested in that at the moment.†What happened to the 4.5mil ? And I'm really interested to know whether this is a self-promotion of the kid or a real story. I wonder if the media verified the offers that the kid get or just did an interview with the boy and everything is told by the kid. In my eyes, maybe a linkbait strategy? There must be some one who purposely send the information to the media to catch their attention.
yap may be. I knew it was too good to be true. I mean come on who in their rightful mind would offer 8.5 millions for a stupid off-line website and more interesting yet who the heck would reject it!
I am not sure I understand about what you are going to say to my comments ? Can you please explain this ? I wrote this comments as explain to this situation.
What does a Ponzi Scheme have to do with anything - Are you sure you posted that in the right thread?
Yes I am sure, what this guy is doing it's this pure scheme. It's all about having the “right people†and the “right money†involved.
1.) Thats someones opinion of a different site 2.) Its link bait itself (All there is is a post) 3.) He is talking about Venture Capitalists who invest for different reasons then established companies who can take a market share and use it to compliment their own, therefore making even more money
Wow, probably you don't even read the post. But already replied with 3 statements, ok! So point 3 in your conclusions have nothing to do with this situation (I mean this thread on DP)?
Doesn't apply at all... "A Ponzi scheme is a fraudulent investment operation" He got an offer to sell, not an investment. Incorrect... "that involves paying abnormally high returns (â€profitsâ€) to investors" £8.5M to Mr Coates Jr. Correct... "out of the money paid in by subsequent investors" Nick only put in time, certainly not any significant money judging by his Comet job. Incorrect... Therefor, this is nothing to do with Charles Ponzi.
year and a half ago I was making 5-6K with hyips and autosurfs, until 12dp debacle. I can't see how can be this ponzi scheme?? I think the guy should wait and see how this story will affect his earnings.
Okay, guys, then thanks for clearing this out for me. TOPS30, in that post on SEOblackhat I assumed that Mybloglog was also takes only time and not some money, however we don't know the backstory about this Nick site. And also there are also talking about selling, not investment. Author of post jst say that it's reminds him this scheme. And no, my post have nothing to do with reputation or something like that, lol
A Ponzi scheme is more like you convince someone to part with his money based on the perception he will double/triple etc. his money and hence make money. Like a pyramid scheme. Nick isn't convincing anyone to part with their cash in return for more. The Black Hat guy reckons that is exactly what today's VC's do. They find a widget for sale (MyBlogLog) which is fairly hot, find a buyer (Yahoo) and say to them "Oi, Yahoo! Pay $10m and you'll make gazillions! No, it doesn't matter MyBlogLog only makes pennies, I'm telling you, once your name is on it, it WILL make you billions!". That's how SEOBlackHat comes to the conclusion of VC's acting like a Ponzi scheme.
Just found the full story on Daily Mail (another trustworthy one haha): http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/li...ogy.html?in_article_id=442064&in_page_id=1965 Apparently, it was the BBC who wanted to buy it, with tax payers' money!
