Another question, since I'm going to have them get web hosting and domain from my affiliate link, should I ask them for their username and password so I can set their stuff up or should I let them set their own stuff up? Also, would it be ok if I used the same template for everyone or should I switch it up?
Are you good with writing? If so, you could go freelance and write articles about teens. Check out the BST section of the forum. You could start with getting a few writing jobs there. You could also do forum posting. I have a forum posting gig for you if you are interested.

Having a classified ad in the local paper is a great idea, most focus entirely on the web, and forget that their flyer/ad can equally attract visitors at the local mall, simple advertising tactics that people have been doing in the real world for years equally works with online ventures
I wouldn't say it's unprofessional at all, though I will admit it is limiting. For the price difference between having someone write a website from scratch and having someone do a little custom coding on a Wordpress template, a lot of small businesses are going to opt for the Wordpress. This kid isn't looking to go do a website for some fortune 500 company, he's just looking to do some freelancing for smaller companies. Plus, if a company isn't going to continue paying him for upkeep on the website, they'll be able to manage a Wordpress website a lot easier than a traditionally coded website.
If you are interested in gaining local clients, take the time to research other web design services in your area. What do they charge? What do they offer? That will help you gain more customers because you can offer a better deal than your competition.
Yeah good idea Kecia08, but being a beginner I don't think I would be able to compete with their prices. I was thinking my rates could be $20 a page? So probably they would buy 5 pages and on top of that I could get the $50 from the affiliate marketing off the sales. But I'm getting ahead of myself! I need to actually start my business first lol.
Opps my fault for calling a "man" didn't know you are a girl haha. Anyways, yeah if you have some hobbies that interest you then make some sites about them. I just sold a site I made for a video game that just came out for $3500 and made around $1000 just from ad sales. Thats more then I have made this year on making sites for clients so its really worth it.
Try websites like mturk.com odesk.com Those sites are easy to make quick cash, especially mturk. Then you move up from there.
There's always the hard way and easy way The hard way is you can register to as many freelancer websites as it possible, there's Elance, oDesk, etc Why i call it's hard? Because you have to compete with the seniors who have many portfolios over their profiles. You have to crawl on bidding, lower your price, etc. The easy way is to submit as many unique gigs as possible, there's fiverr, jobsfor10, etc On fiverr you could sell any services for $5, the better place is jobsfor10 because it allows to list our $5 - $20 gigs Good luck!
Selling web site design is a hard gig as you have to convince someone your services are worth the price. I have had some success in cold sales but the best comes from word of mouth from satisfied customers. Offer your customers a piece of the pie for all sales due to their adverts.
It's good to hear your following you mom's advice. I would like to suggest a very good site for freelancers wanna be...www.odesk.com, this one is proven. If you know how to type for sure you do, research, design..all those stuff, just have a little patient and you'll sure get your first freelance job. This could be your stepping stone. There are other freelance market place but this one is definitely the best. Good luck on you effort.
